BCB004 Smart Fences

BCB Smart Fences.jpg

These devices are an ongoing work, I recently got into the human-Jaguar conflicts in the north of Argentina and I started to work on some new devices meant to mitigate the conflicts between farmers and Jaguars. These Smart fences and the Smart Connected Cow Collars are the new two additions to Big Cat Brother device list.

These Smart fences are the first movable Smart devices and they are intended to be used as perimeter surveillance devices.

Jaguars preying on domestic animals is not something frequent, however, when it happens the end of the story is not happy. Jaguars are stalkers, before they go for their prey they take some time, sometimes several days. The idea behind this device is to have motion sensors and mobile cameras on rails to identify Jaguars near farms   The cameras have the same characteristics of the BCB002S but they are not intended to work with Regional Cores at first. If Jaguars are detected then the device will send the proper notifications to Rangers or other groups trying to avoid clashes. These devices will be tested this year in the north of Argentina the moment travel bans get relaxed over there, so, stay tuned for the results of testing.

The human - Jaguar conflict is an increasing one as the human enterprise keeps expanding the need for lands in order to exploit them for profits. It is not only about farming, the issues are quite diverse, however you might be interested in these good farming techniques, take a look here.
